Primary Uses

Stomach & Intestinal Cramps: Relieves sharp, stabbing pains caused by muscle spasms in the gut.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Helps manage the bloating, cramping, and discomfort associated with IBS flare-ups.

Bladder & Urinary Spasms: Used to ease pain in the bladder or the tubes leading from the kidneys (ureters), often during a urinary tract infection or when passing small kidney stones.

Period Pain: Relieves the cramping of the uterine muscles during menstruation.

Diagnostic Procedures: Sometimes used before endoscopies or radiology tests to “quiet” the bowel so doctors can get clearer images.
How to Take It

Standard Dose: For adults and children over 12, the usual dose is one to two 10 mg tablets, 3 times a day.

IBS Specific: If you are using it for IBS, your doctor may start you on 1 tablet 3 times a day and increase it if needed.

Administration: Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush or chew them.
Common Side Effects
Because very little of this medicine enters the bloodstream (it stays mostly in the gut), side effects are usually mild:
